Casio has developed a carbon core guard structure, a new kind of shock-resistant structure.
In addition, the pursuit of extreme toughness has led to the use of a carbon monocoque case, which unifies the case and back cover for a further improved airtight construction.
Through the use of highly functional materials, such as the carbon on the bezel and band and titanium for the push buttons and button pipes, the structure of the watch is made stronger, more lightweight, and rust-resistant.

GWR-B1000 is equipped with Bluetooth® and radio-controlled timekeeping systems to achieve the accuracy required for professional flight missions.

New perspective on
shock-resistant structures.

Carbon core guard structure

A new shock-resistant carbon core guard structure integrates the case and case back into a monocoque case that protects the module. An external structure capitalises on its toughness and lightness.

Bezel with 52 layers of carbon sheeting

The bezel is made of carbon materials as well, making it highly durable and resistant to damage. The layered carbon bezel is designed to keep flexibility and to absorb shock. It is achieved by making a clearance between the case and the bezel.

Carbon monocoque case

The case and back cover are part of a unified construction that ensures that the watch is both strong and airtight. In addition, the use of carbon materials grants greater freedom of design while increasing shock resistance.

Shock-resistant button

The new carbon case helps to develop a new structure of button. This also enables removing the button guards from the exterior.

toughness and lightness.

Lightest GRAVITYMASTER with lasting toughness.

Carbon fibre has ten times the strength of iron at one-fourth its weight, and acquires excellent shock absorption. Titanium is about half the relative density of iron, but rivals steel in strength. By making widespread use of these two highly functional materials, GWR-B1000 achieves a weight of 72 g, the lightest for GRAVITYMASTER, while also maintaining the greatest shock resistance in the series. The watch is comfortable to wear for long periods, making it pilot-friendly.

Carbon fibre insert band

Carbon fibre of outstanding tensile strength is moulded into urethane resin with high cutting/tear resistance.

Triple G Resist

The tough structure of the watch protects it from three types of gravitational acceleration: impact forces, centrifugal forces, and vibrations.

Rust-resistant

Titanium materials are used for the metal parts that are exposed to outside air, making them lightweight, strong, and resistant to rust.

Stopwatch with flyback function

The button at 2 o'clock can be used to start a stopwatch operation while in the stopwatch mode. During a stopwatch operation, a single press of the button at 4 o’clock instantly stops the current operation, resets the stopwatch, and starts a new lap time. This flyback feature avoids time lost to button operations.

Super Illuminator

(high-brightness LED)

The LED illuminates the dial to ensure visibility in the dark.

In-dial solar panel

Further improvements in the shadow dispersing solar panel by optimizing solar cell shapes to improve power generation efficiency and make it possible to generate sufficient power using only the light received through the dial areas of the face. This eliminates the need to limit the transmittance of the face, which greatly enhances face design possibilities.

Sapphire crystal with non-reflective coating

To ensure high readability, non-reflective coating is applied on the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Carbon layered bezel

(GWR-B1000X)

Carbon materials are layered and cut into the shape of the bezel. The layered cross-section can be seen from the side, and results in a strong and beautiful exterior finish.

Carbon dial

(GWR-B1000X)

A carbon fibre material used in recent aircraft construction has been adopted for the dial.
